I love Chevelle’s, Malibu’s and Nova’s… my first car was a ‘66 Nova.  Always love to see a station wagon! (and Impala’s!)

Real shit happening at the Levi’s print shop on valencia:

firstperson:

Press Day number one @Levi’s Workshop

Today was a slow start, but I started with a hearty breakfast, thankfully cooked up by my supportive and patient boo, and a quick session of meditation (no joke) on my bed. Came on the J Church over Dolores Park walking through the hot Mission, yes! to find expert silkscreener and friend artist, Jonathan Runcio and letterpress photorepro’er guru, Nick Hurd, double yes!!! My dude pro backups on my first person team who are awesomely volunteering to make our letterpress edition and posters happen.

Noah, from the most “expensive ice cream in the world” Scream Sorbet showed up with a packed cooler of Carrot Ginger, Grilled Corn, Hazelnut Chocolate, Pistachio, Strawberry Rhubarb, and a few other million pints of the most heavenly genius treats I’ve had the pleasure and priveledge to try. They are still in the shop while we are printing into the midnight hour here onsite. Hope they get home okay!!!! Dude, you rule.

Had dinner at Fritz next door w. my new friends, Ursula and Mardi, who run the North Beach Festival, oh my god, the Sao Paolo burger.. do it. And eating in the window, I felt like Cleopatra… but just really tired… with a pretty hefty burger that I wolfed down surprisingly, but unsurprisingly not after a full ass day of buying ink, overseeing production, and thank gawd for my crew… and friends volunteering, Yuko was here to lay paper with Henrik and Ursula cut paper. Small things go a long way in the production line here.

Djing Dam Funk from the office into the space… who wants to loan us a disco ball for our party?!!! Too cool…

xo b N Editor—- cu Saturday, it’s gonna totally RULE.

Come out to the FIRST PERSON MAGAZINE ISSUE 4 launch party!
There has been a lot of buzz on the Mission District’s interwebage lately about the arrival of the LEVI’S Workshop print shop on Valencia Street.  Love it or hate at first glance, there are opportunities to participate in order to inform your initial reaction.  I’ll be hitting up (and participating in production of) First Person Magazine’s launch party for their 4th Issue, aptly called “Discomfort of Sculpture”.  Each issue of the magazine has been offered in a different format and Issue 4 will be crafted as a letter press edition at the print shop premises.  I’ll be there early in the day to help assemble this edition with First Person family and friends.  Please see below for more information about Issue 4 and the launch party.
RSVP for the party here ASAP (limited capacity- you will need sign up for an account at the Levi’s Workshop site in order to RSVP):    http://workshops.levi.com/rsvp/first-person-magazine
