“Untitled”, by Maurizio Cattelan: one of the most persuasive piece in the collection
Follow the Unknown Hipster who provides a satisfying amount of name droppage while remaining awkwardly enchanting, as any authentic hipster should.  With his renderings and narrative style accounts you can accompany him to the Venice Biennale with his latest post. You will be entertained!

Anyone have any idea who took this photograph?  The scan is from a magazine page I taped in a journal I had in 1995 when I did a year abroad in Florence, Italy.  It came out of a magazine but I’m not sure which one, most likely published in the mid 90’s.  Someone put together a book of collected photographs by Kurt Markus, Ken Miller, Bruce Weber, anonymous 30’s pictures, Fernand Fonssagrive, and Steven Meisel, to name the few that are included in the text contained on the back of the page that I cut out.  I have no idea who the person is that put the book together, they seem to be the voice of the written article, and no idea who this image belongs to, but when I moved last September I found the magazine page in my journal and fell in love with that image all over again.

IFB Network: Links à la Mode

Happiness is being a free bird…

Edited by Jennine of IFB & The Coveted Oddly enough since we moved over to the editorial selection, I’ve never selected the links, and I really have to tell you choosing this week’s roundup was tough, so many great links, I had a hard time picking! Well, here we are in the midst of summer, this year you can’t click twice without hitting a blog giveaway, as we’ve got great giveaways on Bobbins and Bombshells, Style Symmetry, Fashion Hippo and The Coveted, and if that’s not enough, IFB has a couple of great links to more contests. Whew. And while ‘free’ doesn’t always mean stuff you don’t have to pay for, it can also mean free as in stuff you can’t pay for, Decline Designs takes inspiration to two free spirited cinematic heroines with vivid imaginations, Brick My Lane will add rock and roll to your dancing feet, and free minded bloggers 39th and Broadway, Curvy Fashionista and Pursed Lips question the fashion industry.

Links à la Mode : June 11th

Betty’s good eye… checkout first person mag:

Entertainment Weakly
My new favorite artist, undoubtedly Peres Projects has resurrected him… is Texan Mark Flood. His lace paintings are undeniable. His collage works are freakish. And his consistency since 1981 in these languages never tire. Not new to the scene, his works are part of the lucrative Menil Collection, who deservingly built a museum around Cy Twombly, of course.

The thrill of the chase. Rachel Nasvik, a NYC handbag designer, has devised the coolest way to market her sweet ass bags… via twitter hints and a blog lucky NYC peeps have been getting their hands on the Rachel Nasvik Alice Bond bag.  It’s unclear if any bags are left but I’d advise following the twitter feed pronto if you are in the area in case there is more bootie to be had.  Daily Candy had the full scoop.
